Diet & Nutrition
Feel better from the inside out with customized dietary planning that helps you uncover food triggers, manage weight, and eat with confidence
What Does Customized Dietary Planning Include at WomanCare?
Customized dietary planning, or nutrition counseling, is available to all WomanCare patients, family members, and non-patients with Registered and Licensed Dietitian Peggy Tsevis. At WomanCare, she counsels on various nutrition issues, specializing in women’s health, pregnancy, high cholesterol, weight management, osteoporosis, and nutrition for disease prevention/wellness.
We also offer our in-house Ideal Protein Diet program, run by our Weight Management Consultant and Certified Personal Trainer, Suzanne Janusz. Suzanne performs an initial intake counseling session and develops personalized nutrition plans to meet specific goals. She also meets with patients weekly for encouragement, problem-solving, and dietary counseling.
Our Ideal Protein Diet protocol, designed by medical professionals, may improve many health issues associated with obesity:
- Hypertension
- High Blood Pressure
- Type 2 Diabetes
- Stroke
- Gallbladder Disease
- Osteoarthritis
- Sleep Apnea (or other breathing problems)
- Mental health problems (low self-esteem and/or depression)
Food intolerance testing is also available as part of our LEAP (Lifestyle Eating and Performance) program. This test involves a blood test to determine foods that cause IBS, migraines, fibromyalgia, and other chronic diseases related to inflammation.
Struggling to Feel Like Yourself? Food Sensitivities Could Be the Missing Link
In this video, licensed dietitian Peggy Tsevis explains how food sensitivities—often overlooked—can silently impact energy, digestion, and overall well-being.
You’ll complete a detailed intake form covering your diet, symptoms, medical history, and lifestyle. This helps your dietitian tailor your visit and identify potential patterns or concerns in advance.
You’ll meet one-on-one with our licensed dietitian to discuss your goals, challenges, and daily habits. Together, you’ll begin shaping a realistic, step-by-step nutrition plan—whether that includes food journaling, lab testing, or starting an elimination diet.
You’ll leave with a personalized strategy, ongoing support, and clear next steps. Most patients return for a series of visits to adjust their plan, track progress, and build confidence in their choices.
What to Expect From Your Nutrition Appointment
Insurance Information
Insurance coverage for nutrition counseling can vary based on your plan and reason for visit. Some plans cover medical nutrition therapy for conditions like diabetes, high cholesterol, or digestive disorders, while others may not include preventive or wellness-focused visits. We’ll help verify your benefits ahead of time and provide self-pay options if needed, so you can focus on feeling better, not on billing surprises.

Nourish Your Health with Guidance That’s Personal
Common signs include bloating, fatigue, headaches, joint pain, skin issues, or mood changes after eating certain foods. These symptoms are often delayed, making them hard to trace without guidance or testing.
Food allergies cause an immediate immune response (like hives or anaphylaxis), while sensitivities are non-life-threatening but can cause ongoing inflammation and discomfort over time.
The Mediator Release Test (MRT) detects reactions to 170 foods and chemicals with up to 90% accuracy. It’s a powerful tool used in our LEAP Program to help identify and remove triggers contributing to chronic symptoms.
Many patients with IBS, migraines, fibromyalgia, joint pain, eczema, or fatigue have seen significant improvements by identifying food sensitivities and following a tailored elimination plan.
Yes. We work with you to understand not just what you eat, but why, offering realistic strategies to support healthy, sustainable weight loss or maintenance.
Not necessarily. We focus on finding what works for your body, not punishing restrictions. Our dietitians help you discover nourishing swaps and balanced choices you can actually enjoy.
Everybody is different, but many patients notice energy, digestion, and symptom relief improvements within the first few weeks of their personalized plan.
Not usually. Most patients can self-refer, but some insurance plans may require one—our team can help you check your plan and assist with next steps.
Only if needed. If your diet or symptoms suggest nutrient gaps, we may recommend pharmaceutical-grade supplements for better absorption and faster relief.
Most patients benefit from 3–5 visits, especially if enrolled in the LEAP Program. We tailor the frequency based on your goals, progress, and comfort level.
